Friday
Another back post, another busy day. Bebh and Frank were here today and we decided to take a swing into town and show Bebh the tourist sights, because Bebh… is from the city. The Auld big smoke: Dublin.
Went to the park, went charity shopping, all sorts of stuff.
Then Craig swung round to give us a new table; him and his buddy ended up hanging around for hours and having the craic. And T’was 90 boss. /Irish

And all that stuff on Wednesday about it being a lean weekend? Some how managed to scrape cash from everywhere to go drinking. The fun never ends up on the lane.
Thursday
Oh what a serious back-post this is. This was the day where it all kicked off. John-Ross and his woman came over, and along with Mary we all went out to the discotheque (disk-o-tek, it’s the proper name for a disco) did a bit of drinking and had a bit of a dance. Was a bit of fun anyway.

My going out clothes. Too dull?
Wednesday
Cycled down town today to get my dole. But with the phone bill this week, it might be a little lean over the weekend. I’ll do my best though… keep soldiering through.

Took a picture at sunrise, then went right back to bed. Might be a nice picture, but nuts to this “crack of dawn” shit.
Had some beer last night, had some tonight. My alcohol consumption has gone down recently after the Wine debacle of a fortnight ago. Friggin’ wine hangovers.
Government to make cigarettes invisible: teen smoking to end as a result
Ah today has made me mad. Well, a lot of things make me mad, but it was something in particular today.
Just to let you know, I’m a smoker. I like smoking, it gives me a series of little lifts throughout the day and it’s a great social thing, now that we’ve all been relegated to a special cage outside.
But this is just a stupid piece of legislation, that will only make purchasing cigarettes legally more awkward for patrons and business operators.
Government to ban all cigarettes from view
Now… excuse me if I’m missing something fundamental here, pushes glasses up nose , but how exactly do legislators think that hiding cigarettes from view will stop teenagers smoking? It’s already patently clear that kids are getting cigarettes from somewhere, so they’re probably aware of where they are in the first place. This is a time wasting bullshit piece of legislation that won’t do anything but hinder the purchase of a legal product by legal adults, of legal age. Legally.
Feel free to chime in on the comments. Maybe we could use this as a petition of sorts… say if we were to hit 100 comments, then maybe we could send it to the government registering our supreme disappointment at this bone-headed, reactionist, bullshit move to hustle tax payers.
I’m mad I say. MAD!
Tuesday
Did basically nothing today. The dryer guys came round though, so we now have a working dryer. Not a fan of getting someone in to fix something… so I might have to break something I can fix… so I can fix it. Anyway; today’s picture.

Roll on the good times.
Monday
A week like any other, a day like any other… I need a proper project to get started on.

Back posting, internet issues.
Senan’s over
Yeah, this is Senan, he lives entirely on impulse, there is no disconnect between thought and action. He’s great fun to hang out with.

I’m back up home in Letterkenny, looking at discount zoot suits and not drinking beer. Another day up on the lane.
The last day of the month
And if it were a leap year, then tomorrow would be the 29th, but alas, not this time. Did my chores, had another fantastic dinner and settled back down once more to watch tv and drink beer. In a recliner.
You’ve got to take a little time out now and then, a little me time. Yes, but it’s back to Letterkenny tomorrow, and back to the finances, the tribulations, and the dryer that doesn’t really like being warm.

It’ll be like I never left. Bliss.
Back home
After three weeks, I’m back at home, having a sit down.
Wonderful beef cobbler dinner, a few cans, watching tv with the kin.
It’s nice. The surround sound in the sitting room is buzzing, I have a list of chores to take care of, which include unblocking a toilet.
You know, it’s like I never left.

Still… nice to be home.
The day it all changes
Today, Thursday the 26th of February, The Mad Carpenter finally gets his own camera. No more borrowed, no more low quality, no more webcam (unless for webcam related things)
I bought the Canon Powershot A470. I’ve had it for 3 hours and I’m already in love with it. It has super macro mode, meaning I can take REALLY REALLY close up photos. It’s a fantastic camera, and I’m thrilled to have it. It even make me look good

I know, WHAT ABOUT THE CARPENTRY?! I hear you scream across the internet. Well don’t despair, because by Monday night you’ll have a tool review (of my cheap power tools) and my opinions on flat packed furniture, because I’ve built a bookcase today.
Look at the detail on that… super macro mode rules.
