Hollywood Friday

We went up to the Griffith Observatory today to look at Los Angeles from up high. It was incredible. And on the drive up we saw the tunnel from Back To The Future 2. After getting a big sandwich for dinner, and accidentally driving up and down Hollywood Boulevard we headed out to a little hole in the wall bar in Hollywood to meet up with friends and watch some local bands. And a beatnik poet.

Went with Kimberlee and her brother and sister to the courthouse today. Lots of waiting in a hot room to end up spending less than 5 minutes in the courtroom to be told to come back in a month. The American legal system; it’s not great, but it’s not all bad.

Oh yeah, the Pre-L.A. remark… we were technically in Los Angeles today, but only really on the edge. Going to Hollywood tomorrow.

L.A. proper as it were.

Irvine Wednesday

Went up to Irvine today to have lunch with Kimberlee’s friends Jennifer and Kara (Pictured).

Had lunch at a natural food store cafe sort of deal. Got a chicken tikka with na’an bread and a strawberry soda. I love this country. Everyone I’ve spent time with has made it a blast.

Watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles with Kimberlee and her son then had some beef tacos for dinner.

Thrift Shop Tuesday

Another quiet day out in Orange. Walked over to a thrift store, went to a 98 cents store (1.07 cents after tax) picked up some potato chips and walked home. Had a conversation over the phone with Robin and Walt.

Curried Chicken with some Fat Tire for dinner. Nom nom nom.

Didn’t do anything big or crazy today. Just spent the day with Kimberlee, took a nap and got some twinkies in Wal-Mart. Never been in a Wal-Mart before. It was huge.
